Community Youth Groups UPDATE

We have great news, here are the updates for each community:
Charltons Youth Provision
Community Youth Project youth workers Kayleigh and Jean and Charltons volunteer Kate O Boyle re opened the village hall doors for youth club on Wednesday 30th September 7-9pm. 
In line with Government legislation we were able to welcome 15 young people in ‘fixed bubble’ back into youth club and have set up a waiting list. 
Young people, youth workers and volunteers enjoyed a range of activities during the session and everyone ensured that the session was COVID 19 safe by wearing masks, hand sanitising and socially distancing.

Hamdons Youth Provision
Lou and Kayleigh are continuing to deliver detached work in Stoke on a Monday evening, 7.00 -9.00pm reaching up to 15 young people and in Norton every Wednesday evening, 7.00-9.00pm reaching up to 8 young people.

Creech St Michael
Youth workers Kayleigh and Mel are delivering detached youth work on the village recreation ground every Thursday evening 6-8pm. There is a regular core group of 14 young people who are enjoying meeting with youth workers and their friends.

Martock Youth Provision
 
Youth workers Lou, Tina, Kayleigh, Ed and Shelley are supporting the  Martock Youth Centre management committee to ensure that the centre is COVID 19 secure in preparation for the building to re-open for youth club activities and sessions during October and November.
Young people in Martock will be welcome to attend after school sessions from 4.30 -6.00pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays. 
The Tuesday after school session will include music tuition and other small group activities.
We will be offering youth club small group discussion and activities on Tuesday evening, 7.00 -9.00pm for years 7 and 8.
Wednesdays youth club provision for year 9,10,11 from 7.00 -9.00pm.
Thursdays – Tina and Shelley will meet with Youth Parish Council from 4.30 -6.30pm.
Thursday evenings, 7.00 -9.00pm Lou and Tina will deliver detached work in Martock parks and the precinct.
 
The Youth Parish Council are currently making a  young person friendly public health information film about COVID 19 for the South Somerset District Council.

Archies Xtra – Somerton
 
Our youth worker Jean is continuing to support youth work delivery with Archies Xtra volunteers, welcoming young people on a Thursday evening 7:30-9pm to take part in activities and discussion at the Somerton Recreation ground.

Tintinhull Youth Club
The Community Youth Project has raised funding from the Somerset Community Foundation and from the National Community Fund Awards For All to help re open Tintinhull Youth Club.
We are eagerly awaiting a decision from Tintinhull Parish Council about the use of the Sports Pavillion or village hall for youth club.
