There have been many casualties of the pandemic and youth services has in many areas of the country suffered as a result of social distancing.
The CYP are very fortunate to have been awarded emergency funding from a number of different funders to help sustain them through the pandemic which has enabled us to delivery detached, outside youth work. We have been very lucky to have support from some amazing organisations. These much needed funds, in a time when many councils are reducing their spending on youth work, has meant that our youth workers have been out and about in the local communities, socially distantly meeting young people and helping them through these tough times.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the following for their generosity during these hard times;
- The Fore Trust – a grant for youth work/staffing and delivery of detached sessions for July and August
- Somerset Community Foundation – funding for youth work and detached sessions for July and August
- South Somerset District Council – a small business grant which has been put towards core costs.
- Somerset Community Foundation – a further grant specifically aimed at the Charltons youth group for youth work, delivery of sessions and to cover core costs associated with this community. This is to cover a period of 1 year until August 2021.
